Description of Specimen
This is a loop of small intestine, and its attached mesentery. At the apex of the specimen, the
intestinal mucosa is widely infiltrated by tumour, presenting as a fungating nodular mass showing
ulceration. The mesentery contains a number of large lymph nodes. In the largest of these, there
appear to be some areas of necrosis.
